Maiden dividend proposed in HSBC India Opportunities Fund

HSBC Mutual Fund will declare a dividend in HSBC India Opportunities Fund (HIOF), the record date for which will be 18 March 2005. This will be the first dividend declared by the fund, since its inception.

HSBC India Opportunities Fund was launched in March 2004 as an open-ended equity scheme. The objective of the fund is to generate long term capital growth from an actively managed portfolio of equity and equity related securities. HIOF is a flexi-cap product that invests across market capitalisations (large-, mid- and small-sized companies) with an option to move upto 50 per cent of its assets into fixed income securities if the view of the fund manager is negative about the equity markets. The HSBC Mutual Fund is managed by HSBC Asset Management (India) Private Limited.

HSBC India Opportunities Fund had assets in excess of Rs 486 crores at 28 February 2005. The NAV of the Fund stood at Rs 13.7374 (Growth Plan) and Rs 13.7374 (Dividend Plan), as at 28 February 2005. Please note that after the payment of dividend, the NAV of the dividend plan will fall to the extent of the pay out.
